Bruce Wayne Lawson

Bruce Wayne Lawson was born in San Francisco, California.  He grew up in Long Beach, California and graduated from Robert A. Millikan High School.  Growing up Bruce Wayne played multiple sports but in high school just focused on playing football and running track.  He was league champion in the 120 yard high hurdles.  Bruce Wayne attended Long Beach City College where he was heavily involved with student body activities serving as president of The Order of Tong (an on-campus fraternity/social service club) and Associate Student Body Club Senate President.  He then transferred to California State University, Fullerton where he received a degree of Bachelor of Arts in Communications/Advertising.  Ironically, the university lost its football program the year he transferred.

His professional career started as a junior sales executive at KTLA-TV in Los Angeles, CA.  BruceWayne then worked 4 years at KFI-AM radio as a sales executive where he broke numerous new business sales records.  After years of working in the television & radio sales industry he transferred into the medical sales industry.  Bruce Wayne worked over 15 years as a Senior Territory Manager for companies such as CR BARD, Johnson & Johnson and Boston Scientific.  He sold medical devices for angioplasty, cerebral aneurysms and chronic pain procedures and while doing so achieved numerous president’s awards for sales performance.

Bruce Wayne made the decision to leave the medical sales industry to start a career to help serve the needs of individuals and their families.  Over the past several years he has worked in the capacity of a Life Insurance/Retirement Broker.  He focus on life insurance solutions for individuals and small businesses along with retirement/cash accumulation strategies with index universal life and annuity vehicles.  As a broker he works with over 15 different carriers such as Foresters, AIG and Allianz.

Bruce Wayne always had the philosophy of not just residing in a community but to attempt to make an impact and also serve.  There has been an ongoing passion for sports and working with the youth.   He went from taking my kids to practice to becoming the assistant coach on their soccer, softball and basketball teams.  One year he was asked to be a parent volunteer to officiate games and that’s when he fell in love with officiating.  Bruce Wayne started officiating both youth soccer and basketball.  He then moved to officiating his favorite sport, football.  Bruce was part of the California Football Official Association officiating both high school and youth games.

Over the past two years Bruce Wayne has been residing in the “adult playground” city of Las Vegas, Nevada.  In his spare time he works as a wedding officiant and has married well over 200 couples.  Bruce Wayne has continued working as an official through the Southern Nevada Officials Association officiating high school boys tackle football, high school girls flag football and youth football.

Bruce Wayne has been a football fan since the first grade when I watched the Oakland Raiders defeat the Minnesota Vikings in Super Bowl XI.   He is a diehard Kansas City Chiefs fan since 1989.  Bruce Wayne’s love and passion for football along with a desire to serve the community make him a natural fit to serve on this committee.
